The Curtin University Rugby Scholarships have been awarded for 2008. Congratulations to all the recipients and thanks to the wonderful sponsors! | | | | Saturday 5th July is Round 14. 5th Grade kick off at 2:00pm v Southern Lions @ Murdoch. 3rd Grade have an early game at 12:20pm v Palmyra @ Tompkins Park followed at the same place by the Colts at 1:40pm v Joondalup. | Party Time Saturday 19th July is the only bye left for the club this season. The Wallabies are playing the Saffers at Subi, but for those who aren’t going to the game Tony is looking into organising a Margaret River Trip! Let him know (tbonedownunder@hotmail.com) if you're interested as a minimum of 15 people are required to make it a goer. If it is anything like the last few trips, it should be unmissable! Corporate Package - Curtin Fitness Centre The club has negotiated a fantastic corporate package with the Curtin Fitness Centre which will allow registered club members casual gym sessions at the discounted rate of $6.00 per session. To be eligible you must have signed a 2008 registration form – see Jeremy Camplin after training. In addition to the corporate package, the Curtin Fitness Centre has also got on board to assist in the Club’s 2008 fitness testing program, which will involve strength and agility testing. Get into the gym ASAP for your first free workout/strength test! Wear regular shoes and bring a towel + water bottle. This year the fees remain at the same price of $210 for seniors and $120 for Students. There is also a social membership available for $30. Make sure you include your name in the description or we won't know it's you!  $$ Rugby Scholarships Presented $$ As an initiative to attract players intending to study at Curtin University, the club, in conjunction with the University’s Scholarships and Financial Aid Office, has developed an endowment type scholarship program for Colt aged players and/or club members. Thanks to generous sponsorship from our Sponsors, as well as a financial contribution from the club, $15,000 in scholarships have been awarded so far to Colt Aged players and members in 2008! Mark Arkell, Henry Asgill-Tucker, Tyron Benfell, Craig Best, Reagan Carpenter, Ed Johnson, Liam Pickering, Nathan Pollin, Colin Thompson, Brendan Tritton plus physios Tarryn Jackson and Anita McCrystal, and administrator Laura Rodriguez were all well-deserving recipients this season, so be sure to hit them up for a beer.
